Late Start
Chapter 4
Luke finally had a girlfriend. Her name was Chloe, and Luke thought she was really hot. Her personality wasn't so great, but he was more focused on her looks.
She had a bit of a rebellious streak, which Luke liked about her. After two weeks of dating, they went out to dinner with Luke's mom and Chloe's grandparents so the families could meet. Chloe's parents were both in prison, so Chloe had lived with her grandparents since she was six.
It was a pleasant enough dinner until Chloe's grandmother asked her about the English essay that had been due that day. Chloe shrugged. "I didn't write it. It only counts for five percent of my grade, so I don't care."
Her response clearly infuriated her grandmother, who scrunched up her napkin with her hands. Chloe's grandfather sighed. "It doesn't matter. You aren't guaranteed to do well on your other assignments. Only five percent adds up to a lot more than that if you get in the habit of putting in minimal effort."
Chloe rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever." Her behavior was clearly exasperating her tired grandparents. Her grandmother looked at Luke's mom. "Does Luke here have these sorts of problems in school too?" Luke hated how adults talked about it like he wasn't right there.
"Occasionally," replied Luke's mom. "It's not often though because he knows I will spank him." Chloe snorted with laughter while trying to drink some water. Luke wanted to disappear. This was so embarrassing. His mom had spanked him once more with the strap since the first time he got it. He was trying to keep that to a minimum though.
"That's quite impressive," said Chloe's grandfather. "A lot of parents nowadays want to be their kid's friend rather than a parent. Unfortunately, my wife and I are too old to be able to use that sort of punishment. All we can do is ground Chloe, and she still usually finds a way around whatever restrictions we set."
"Yeah, well that's because you're so unfair!" said Chloe angrily. Luke's mom glanced at both Luke and Chloe. "I see this sort of conversation is making our kids upset," she remarked. "Maybe we can talk about something else?"
Chloe's grandparents agreed, and the dinner conversation became more pleasant. Over the next few days, Chloe was a frequent visitor to Luke's house and was starting to act like part of the family.
Unbeknownst to either Chloe or Luke, Chloe's grandmother called Luke's mother one evening. "I have an unusual favor to ask you," said the elderly lady. "It seems like you're raising a well-disciplined young man. I wish my husband and I could provide the same sort of discipline for our Chloe, but we're just too hold. I could dislocate my hip trying to smack her backside."
Luke's mother thought about how tiring it could be to give a decent spanking to a teenager. "Yes, it can definitely be physically demanding on us too," she said.
"I've tried other alternative punishments, but nothing seems to work," complained the grandmother. "That's why I was wondering if I could ask you to spank my Chloe on our behalf when she seriously misbehaves?"
Luke's mother was taken aback. "I agree that Chloe could definitely benefit from that," she said. "But I don't feel comfortable spanking someone else's kid. It may seem like a good idea right now, but what if she comes home with her backside in rougher shape than you were expecting."
Chloe's grandmother laughed. "I was raised on a farm by parents who survived the Great Depression. I've got my share of severe thrashings growing up, and I survived. I give you my full permission."
Luke's mother thought for a moment. Luke definitely wouldn't approve of her spanking his girlfriend, but she was beginning to care about Chloe and wanted to stop her from going down the wrong path. "Alright, I am willing to do it."
"Thank you so much!" said Chloe's grandmother. "Can I send her over to your house tomorrow? She skipped class today, and I think she needs her back porch painted red."
Luke's mother laughed. "No problem. She can come over any time. I'll call you tomorrow to tell you how it went."
"Thank you so much for this!" said Chloe's grandmother. "It really means a lot."
